The British landscape is back in fashion and adding a sophisticated edge to contemporary interiors
Landscapes have been slightly out of vogue for the past few years with people thinking that traditional and contemporary can never be mixed.....but that's simply not true!
Gordon Lees is one of the UK's foremost landscape artists and his attention to detail is rarely surpassed. The use of light and texture means that these pictures add atmosphere to your home even if the interior has a contemporary edge, it's the placement and size of the artwork which is key.
We have successfully placed some of Gordon's originals in newly built houses to stunning effect. The hand finished frames give a sense of quality and the soft colours and use of light mean that in open areas with good natural light they come into there own.
We have a fantastic selection of not only Gordon's work but also other pieces of landscape artwork in the gallery at the moment so call in, take a look at the gorgeous artwork and we are happy to advise you with regard to hanging landscapes in your home.
So many new artists and pictures!
I can't believe how fast this year is going! Before we knew it we were at the Spring Trade Fair at the NEC choosing lots of new art and pictures. These are arriving almost daily in the gallery at the moment and have made a beautiful Mother's Day window for us.
Our newest pieces are a super collection of open prints, all framed with prices from £55.00. There are box canvases, embellished prints and even open editions from one of our best selling artists, Nigel Cooke. Nigels' prints are on canvas board with embellishment so if you loved his originals then these framed pieces starting at £185.00 are just for you.
Along with these, we have originals from new artists such as Yulia Lisle and Geoff Beckett and limited editions from Sarah Ewing and Danielle D winging their way to us. We have also stocked up on the ever popular silver and white contemporary ceramics which make great gifts.
As a reminder, we do offer Interest Free Finance on all our artwork over £300.00 so you can spruce up your home or invest in a beautiful original at an affordable pace.
The best way to see all our new pieces is to come along and see for yourself. You are always guaranteed a friendly welcome (and a cup of coffee) at any time; we are looking forward to showing you what we have.
So many new artists in the gallery..and it's only January
The mince pies have been worked off in the gym and we are ready and raring to go into 2017! To get the racing start, we have selected some amazing new artwork by new artists to banish the January gloom.
Scott Bateman's work is becoming so collectable; his artwork is beautifully painted with lovely sentiment behind each piece. The attention to detail that goes into his landscape backgrounds is superb and at Christmas his work was selling before we'd even had chance to add it to our database.
In 2016, cityscapes tended to be the order of the day and our Nigel Cooke exhibition in November has continued to be a success in January as we are still selling and ordering more of his artwork. Despite being popular, there is always room for a new cityscape artist as each one comes at the genre from a different perspective. Jennifer Greenland offers fresh and detailed views which remind you of London in the Spring; such a different approach to the dynamic colour and feel to Nigel Cooke's work.
To balance the contemporary with the traditional, we have two sensational originals by Ken Hammond of Galleons moored during evening light. His use of light is super and it conveys the tranquility of the harbourside in the evening with soft light skitting across the surface of the calm sea.
I could go on and on and on, but the best way to experience all our new pieces is to come alond and see them for yourself. You are assured a very warm welcome and we are more than happy to offer advice and answer any questions that you have. Don't forget that we also offer 0% Finance on artwork over £300 which can make investing in artwork even easier. we look forward to seeing you soon!
We are ready and raring to go for Christmas!
Ok, the Nigel Cooke event is in the bag and we were so happy with Nigel and his artwork over that weekend! We do still have pieces available in the gallery from Nigel so if you missed out on Nigel's visit then you can still see his artwork.
Back on course for our usual Christmas busy period, we are stocked up with framing, artwork and lots of new jewellery so if you are stuck for a different gift then keep us in mind.
Our Carrie Elspeth jewellery makes great gifts for Mums, sisters, aunts and teachers. The stylish designs and gorgeous beads make it a super gift and the price points are very reasonable.
Our artwork is always a winner as a forever Christmas present for someone special. Danny Abrahams has launched some wonderful new limited editions which come in at £150.00 framed and the sentiments shown are a dream. For that VERY special person, investing in a divine limited edition by the ever popular Kerry Darlington is a lovely idea. Her new pieces are in the gallery at the moment. There are collectable originals by Scott Bateman and vibrant pieces by Rozanne Bell to name just a few. Don't forget that we offer Interest Free Finance so you can spread the payments over 6/9/12 months with no cost to you! Couldn't be simpler.
Through December watch out on our Social Media sites for our 'FLASH PROMOTIONS' up until Christmas. What are these? Well for a VERY limited time frame we will be offering a great price on either an artists' work, a particular piece of artwork or style but you'll have to be quick to take it up as they will only last 48 hours so keep checking our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter feeds.....Happy shopping and happy saving!
Finally, to help you fit everything in, we are open until 7pm on Friday evenings up until Christmas so bring your framing or buy your artwork then. See you soon!
Frame your Summer holiday memories
That's it.....schools out for Summer so we can kick back and relax! We all love this time of year and with it we get so many great photographs our families at the beach, at long, lazy barbeques and on far flung holidays. So often these get forgotten or saved on the computer...and then forgotten! A great way to keep these to make us smile through the dull Winter months is to put them in a super smart frame.
We can offer so many lovely choices of mounts and frames to suit all budgets. We can put several photos in one frame to make a collage or frame the spade that helped you win the sandcastle building competition. These memories make a super addition to your kitchen, family room or study and often bring a smile to your face when you see them.
Let's not forget the artwork that we buy whilst on holiday that takes our fancy and reminds us of good times. We can stretch and frame batiks and canvases and mount and frame watercolours and prints to bring out their best.
We hope that you make the most of the Summer and really look forward to seeing you and sharing your happy times at some stage over the next couple of months. Happy holidays!
Looking for new ideas and art......then come and see what we have that's new!
We have had a busy few months with art sales and commissions. Danny Abrahams completed a wonderful commission for some very dear clients of ours this week. We sent some photos over to him and...hey presto he sent us a beautiful piece of very personal artwork. We don't have any originals by Danny at present but we do have a great range of his limited editions with lovely sentiments and at only £150.00 framed they are so affordable.
If you are after a picture to make you smile, then David Smith's work is just for you. Three super limited editions are in the gallery now and they would be just the ticket for a lovely Father's Day gift.
All the artwork is available now and is on display in the gallery so call in, say hello and see what we've got.
0% Finance now available
At last! We are so pleased to be able to offer our customers 0% finance on all art purchases over £300.00. It has been a while since we offered this facility but now, with changes to various credit licences, we are up and running once again.
The real beauty about this facility is that it spreads your payments out so you don't have to eat into savings or take a big chunk out of this month's budget. It is so easy to accomodate a smaller monthly payment into your out goings and, of course, you can take the artwork home there and then! In the past we even had one customer who used to buy regularly using this scheme; as soon as one agreement came to an end he came in and added to his collection as he was used to the monthy payments.
We can offer finance over 6,9,10 and 12 months and the minimum deposit is 10% of the purchase price. The application is totally on line with documents emailed to you and, in the large majority of cases, the decision is super quick.
So, if you have had your eye on that wonderful Kerry Darlington but couldn't justify spending the money....you can now treat yourself and, as it is 0% interest, it is completely guilt free!
Come in and talk to us about this service and take a look at the great new stock that has come in this week which includes some new artists too. Hope to see you soon.
Lots of lovely new artwork in the gallery to brighten up your home for Spring
The clocks change this weekend and we are finally heading towards the warm Spring weather after the dismal winter; always a joy for me!
We have just taken delivery of some gorgeous new artwork which is light and bright and just right for giving your home some bazzazz. Susan Leigh's superb Hares make a great Easter present and are so much less fattening than those tempting chocolate eggs. As always we have a lovely range of originals by Rozanne Bell, with her floral work looking gorgeous.
Kerry Darlington never fails to deliver fabulous, sophisticated pieces of art and the new release, 'Lady of Shalott' is just that. In a beautiful ornate Victorian style frame she makes a subtle statement. If you bought, or were a lover of, 'Ophelia', 'Pandora's Box' or 'Sakura' then this piece is for you; it is in the gallery for sale now.
Come along and see us and the artwork at any time, you are always welcome and if you come along this Easter Saturday you can even have a slice of Stephen's birthday cake!
We have had ANOTHER delivery of amazing artwork for Christmas
I think that we may need to invest in a Sleigh like a certain well known individual this December! We have been selling artwork so fast that we had to put calls in to two of our lovely art dealers for more stock and, as always, they didn't let us down.
With the latest edition by Kerry Darlington, 'Alice in William Rabbit's Lounge' sold out before it came into the gallery, Rozanne Bell has been taking up the slack and her originals have been flying out of the gallery. Our FREE Home Approval Service has been in demand with customers looking at the artwork in their home with us on hand to advise.
We have some great new artists in the gallery; Simon Wright gives a contemporary twist to wildlife art, Tony Gittens brings old fashioned romance to the gallery and Veronika Benoni gives a sophisticated and subtle take on the cityscape.
We are open seven days a week up until Christmas, so come and see for yourself what amazing artwork we have in at the moment, we'd love to see you.
Oh what a night!
What an amazing night with the simple fabulous ROZANNE BELL yesterday. The gallery was entirely given over to her work and looked amazing; it's not often that we can showcase so many pieces of work from all the styles of one artist but with Rozanne that's exactly what we did.
As with all good exhibitions, the people came, the wine flowed and much artwork was bought. So many collectors old and new were snapping up the artwork faster than myself, Stephen and the crew could write the receipts. There wasn't one style that was more popular than the others but we are spending the next few days delivering the larger pieces!
Rozanne was a wonderful guest and our clients loved her warm and bubbly personality and she was so very self effacing that you couldn't help but be drawn to her and hence the atmosphere in the gallery was lighthearted and happy; just what Stephen and I love the most. If you missed out yesterday you still have plenty of time to come and see and invest in Rozanne's work as her exhibition will be available in the gallery for the next two weeks.
Our new look gallery and Rozannes' exhibition were a great start to a new phase in our business...onwards and upwards as they say. We'd like to say a very big thank you to Rozanne, our lovely customers who support us so well and, of course, a big warm hello to the great new customers that we met.
